    Audi Green Police Superbowl Ad. Discrete message or mistimed ad?


    The Audi A3 TDI was named the 2010 Green Car of the year. Audi’s clean diesel technology is what powers the A3, which has impressive numbers – 140 hp / 236 lb-ft of torque with 42 mpg highway.

    During the Superbowl Audi debuted its now famous Green Police Ad, which has caused quite a buzz in the blogosphere. User comments range from this is a sign of things to come with government control over emissions; to this is just a case of bad marketing.

    At a time when everyone is concerned with the implications of “big government” it makes me wonder if Audi’s Ad was intentional or just mistimed marketing. What are your thoughts?
