Iphone app to remotely shut down lights in your house

When watching the closing ceremonies of the Winter Olympics I saw a yet another new Apple Iphone Ad. Apple showcased an app that allows one to remotely power down lights in the home either through WIFI or over a cell phone data network. The app is called HomeWork Light Control and is available from the app store

I think this is a good use of technology in a simplified format for the average consumer who typically has an iphone or smart phone and often leaves the house in such a hurry often wondering whether or not the lights were left on. With this app one can always make sure the lights in the house are turned off. I wonder if the software is available for other phones such as Blackberry or Andriod phones?

I recall seeing an iphone ad over the holidays where the same app (or one similar to it) was used to power on the lights on a christmas tree. This ad was available on youtube. 0.22 Second Mark of the video.

I need to look into smart phone apps out there that help manage energy consumption.
