It seems people are taking this ad a bit too seriously. I think it is a case of a cleverly put together ad campaign designed to create a buzz
The Audi A3 TDI was named the 2010 Green Car of the year. Audi’s clean diesel technology is what powers the A3, which has impressive numbers – 140 hp / 236 lb-ft of torque with 42 mpg highway.
During the Superbowl Audi debuted its now famous Green Police Ad, which has caused quite a buzz in the blogosphere. User comments range from this is a sign of things to come with government control over emissions; to this is just a case of bad marketing.
At a time when everyone is concerned with the implications of “big government” it makes me wonder if Audi’s Ad was intentional or just mistimed marketing. What are your thoughts?

ha ha ..I just talked about social concern in another post. I think that people are over thinking this. I am also certain that the folks at Audi knew that this would be one of the responses to their ad.
Agreed. And besides. Big government or not, emmissions regulations are getting more and more strict. We're inevitably going in that direction. Might as well jump on now.
BTW, how does the A3 hatch compare to the VW GTI?
I also agree with godawgz's thoughts.
I think if you are just doing 2 classes it is manageable...especially if you have a nack for math :P it will definitely be hard tho!
great video. It deserves to be the car of the year
